The Child and Family Policy Institute of California supports the work of county Adult Services programs that are delivered principally within the Human Services Agencies of each county. Adult Services assist older adults and persons with disabilities to maximize safety, self-sufficiency and independence through the provision of Adult Protective Services, In-Home Supportive Services, and an array of additional services to support vulnerable individuals in each community.
The CFPIC is working with the Adult Services Committee, the Protective Services Operations Committee, the California Department of Social Services, and the Regional Training Academies to deliver Adult Protective Services Social Worker training across the state. In 2005, trainings were provided on the Financial Abuse of Elders. Two series of trainings at Regional locations will be scheduled in 2006, one series on the topic of Hoarding and another series on the topic of Substance Abuse.
