California Kinship Caregivers Advocacy Network Additional Information

The California Kinship Caregivers Advocacy Network (CA-KCAN), began in the summer of 2007, as a small group of Kinship Organizations working with Casey Family Programs – Powerful Families Curriculum. This group of Kinship Leaders possessed the passion and desire to learn more about advocacy and to take a more active role in advocating for the needs of their families and the families they serve. Casey Family Programs responded to their request by dedicating resources to assist the Kinship Leaders in the development of an advocacy association devoted solely to kinship families needs.

The Mission of the Network:
The California Kinship Caregivers Advocacy Network strives to connect connects all kinship families, service providers, community partners, funders and policy makers to improve the well-being of children and youth, in kinship care, especially children and youth of color.
