Michelle Callejas

Michelle is the director of Child, Family and Adult Services for Sacramento County, which includes Child and Adult Protective Services, IHSS and the Public Administrator/Guardian/Conservator’s Office. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, a Master’s Degree in Counseling and is licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist. Michelle has worked in the fields of domestic violence, Child Welfare, Mental Health and the District Attorney’s Victim-Witness program, serving family members of homicide victims and victims of hate crimes. She was deputy director of CPS for 7 years. She values collaboration with system and community partners to provide better services for children and families, and is currently co-leading development of a multi-disciplinary countywide prevention plan that focuses on strengthening families and promoting protective factors.
